Among the Buttercups is a fine art print from an original photograph of Clancy, a Highland cow grazing in a Cumbrian meadow.
This peaceful Highland cattle scene shows Clancy grazing among buttercups, clover and meadow grasses beneath a cool, moody sky. The warm tones of her coat stand out against the greens and yellows of the pasture, creating a calm countryside image with a natural, atmospheric feel.
Clancy is one of the Highland cows from The Fringe And The Fold. Her quiet grazing pose gives the photograph an honest, unforced quality, capturing a real moment in the meadow rather than a staged portrait.
Highland cow meadow print for countryside homes
This print of a Highland cow in a meadow suits anyone who loves Highland cattle, wildflower pastures, native breeds and the character of the British countryside. It has a softer, more pastoral feel than a close-up animal portrait, making it well suited to calm interiors, cottages, farmhouse spaces, country homes and nature-inspired rooms.
The image combines the presence of a Highland cow with the wider setting of a flower-rich meadow. Because of this, it works well as Highland cow wall art for people who want a print that feels both animal-led and landscape-led.
Highland cattle are one of Britain’s most recognisable native breeds, and this print celebrates them in a natural grazing setting. The photograph also reflects the kind of varied pasture and countryside character that sits at the heart of The Fringe And The Fold.
Giclée printing for your Highland cow meadow print
We create Among the Buttercups using Giclée printing, a high-quality fine art printing method suited to detailed photography and richly textured artwork.
This process helps capture the soft meadow detail, the texture of Clancy’s coat and the cooler tones of the sky. It also gives the finished print a refined feel, rather than the glossy look of a standard photo print.
We print the artwork on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Art Paper with a smooth matt finish. This paper gives the image a calm, non-reflective surface, making it well suited to framed wall art and softer countryside interiors.
Print sizes, framing and finish
Among the Buttercups comes in selected landscape sizes as an unframed fine art print, a framed print, or a framed and mounted print.
The unframed option comes as an edge-to-edge fine art print with no printed border, frame or mount. Therefore, it suits customers who would like to choose their own frame or mount.
The framed option arrives fully assembled in a natural wood box frame with Perspex glaze. The print fills the glazed area without a mount.
The box frame has a 20mm front face and a 33mm depth from the wall, creating a clean contemporary shadow-line look. In addition, the hand-stained wood has a specialist wax finish that brings out the natural grain and warmth of the frame.
The framed and mounted option adds a snow white mount for a more classic gallery-style presentation. This option also comes fully assembled in a natural wood box frame with Perspex glaze.
Please note that the listed size for framed options refers to the size of the glazed area. It does not include the width or depth of the frame itself.
For framed prints without a mount, the artwork fills the glazed area. However, framed and mounted prints have a smaller visible artwork area because the mount sits between the print and the frame opening.
