Welcome to The Fringe And The Fold. These Terms & Conditions govern all purchases made through our website, including Highland cow experiences, animal adoptions, and merchandise. By placing a booking or order, you agree to these terms.

2. General Terms

  • All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.
  • We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.
  • The version published on our website at the time of your purchase will apply to your transaction.

3. Experiences

3.1 Bookings

Bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once full payment has been received. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details and our cancellation policy.

3.2 Cancellations by Guests

  • Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled experience will receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled experience, or no-shows, are non-refundable.
  • Bookings made within 72 hours of the experience are non-refundable.
  • To request a refund or reschedule, please email hello@thefringeandthefold.co.uk with your name and booking reference.

3.3 Cancellations by The Fringe And The Fold

If we must cancel due to severe weather, animal welfare, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date at no extra cost.

3.4 Safety and Conduct

  • Guests must follow all safety instructions given by staff.
  • The minimum age for our Family-Friendly Highland Cow Experience is 5 years old.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
  • We reserve the right to refuse participation or ask any visitor to leave if their behaviour poses a risk to animals, staff, or other guests.

3.5 Liability

We take every care to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on our working farm. However, participation in our experiences is at your own risk, and individual experiences may vary.

Our Highland cows and other animals are generally calm, friendly, and well-handled, but like all animals they can occasionally behave unpredictably or act “out of character.” Visitors take part in all activities with this understanding.

The Fringe And The Fold cannot accept responsibility for:

  • Any injury, loss, or damage arising from the natural and unpredictable behaviour of animals;
  • Any personal injury, loss, or damage arising from failure to follow staff instructions or posted safety guidance;
  • Loss of, or damage to, personal belongings brought onto the premises;
  • Events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather or changes to animal movement or availability.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

4. Animal Adoptions

4.1 Nature of Adoptions

Adoptions are symbolic and do not imply ownership or rights over any animal. All animals remain the property of The Fringe And The Fold. We reserve the right to relocate animals as needed for welfare or management reasons.

4.2 Adoption Term

Each adoption lasts for one year from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified.

4.3 Adoption Packs

  • Adoption packs containing physical items are typically dispatched within 10 working days of your order.
  • Digital items are sent electronically typically between 0 and 48 hours after purchase.
  • Please contact us if you have not received your item(s) within the above timeframes.
  • We are not liable for postal delays after dispatch.
  • As digital content is supplied upon purchase of an adoption, adoptions are non-refundable once the digital pack has been delivered. By completing your purchase, you consent to immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that you waive your right to a refund once delivery has begun.

4.4 Visiting Your Adopted Animal

We cannot guarantee that your adopted animal will be visible or available on any particular day. Animal movement and management decisions are made based on welfare and seasonal conditions.

4.5 Renewals

Adoptions are set to auto-renew annually so that your support for the herd continues without interruption. A reminder email will be sent to you before the renewal date. You may cancel the auto-renewal at any time before the renewal payment is taken by contacting us at hello@thefringeandthefold.co.uk. Once a renewal payment has been processed, our standard refunds policy for digital/adoption products will apply.

5. Merchandise

5.1 Orders

All merchandise orders are subject to availability. If an item is out of stock, we will contact you to offer an alternative or refund.

5.2 Delivery

We deliver within the UK using standard postal services. Delivery times are estimates only and may vary depending on carrier delays beyond our control.

5.3 Returns and Refunds

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return unused items in their original condition within 14 days of receipt for a full refund (excluding delivery costs). Please email hello@thefringeandthefold.co.uk before returning any items. Custom or personalised products are non-refundable unless faulty.

5.4 Faulty Goods

If an item is damaged or faulty upon arrival, please contact us within 7 days with photos, and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund.

6. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. They are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, but may be transferred to another person.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and will only use your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We never share your details with third parties except as required to process your order or booking.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
