Coming in the Future
We hope one day to offer calm, nature-friendly Highland cow experiences here in the Eden Valley, Cumbria.
At the moment, however, we are not taking bookings. Our priority is ensuring that any future experience is safe, respectful to the cattle, and genuinely aligned with how we manage the land.
When the time is right, we would love to welcome visitors for a slow, grounding encounter with Highland cattle: a chance to spend time with these gentle, long-haired animals, learn about their role in nature-friendly land management, and connect with the landscape in a meaningful way.
What We Hope to Offer
Our vision is for a small, personal experience where visitors can meet our Highland cattle in a peaceful setting, learn about regenerative grazing, ask questions, take photographs, and enjoy a deeper connection with animals and nature.
Any future experience would be shaped around the welfare of the cattle. Our cows would never be forced to interact. Instead, visitors would be invited to observe and enjoy them on the animals’ terms, with any close contact depending entirely on the behaviour and willingness of the cattle on the day.
We hope to create something calm, authentic and memorable — not a petting-zoo style attraction, but a respectful Highland cow experience rooted in animal welfare, biodiversity and the landscape of Cumbria.
Stay Updated
If you would like to hear when Highland cow experiences become available, please join our mailing list. We would be delighted to keep in touch.
In the meantime, you can still become part of the Fold by adopting one of our Highland cows and supporting the herd from afar.
You can also follow The Fringe And The Fold on Facebook for updates from the herd and the wider project.
