Bring a woodland winter scene to your tree with Among the Conifers, a ceramic Highland cow Christmas tree ornament featuring Morag among snow-covered evergreens.
Morag stands against a hillside of dark conifers, with snow caught on the branches and low vegetation. A pale sky opens above the trees. Meanwhile, the warm colour of Morag’s coat draws the eye to the centre of the scene.
The tall, curved horns and long fringe give this portrait its distinctive outline. Those features are familiar to anyone who loves Highland cattle, but the small details belong to Morag. A few green stems hang from the mouth, adding an everyday moment to the winter setting.
We created the artwork from an original photograph of Morag, one of the cattle at The Fringe And The Fold. We then adapted that photograph into a seasonal woodland scene. The finished image is winter artwork based on our photography, with a real animal from our fold at its heart.
Look more closely and the scene has several layers. Snow-covered stems fill the foreground, evergreen branches frame the sides, and the wooded slope recedes into the distance. Together, they give the small circular design a sense of space while keeping Morag clearly in view.
The design is printed on white ceramic with a natural gloss finish. At approximately 7.5 cm across, the round ornament comes with an adjustable gold hanging string. It has a single-sided printed face and a blank white reverse, and each ornament is printed to order.
Among the Conifers makes a thoughtful Christmas gift for someone who enjoys woodland scenery or follows our cattle. Its green, white and russet colours also sit comfortably among natural foliage and simple festive decorations.
